The Kovanji Prize is an annual distinction created to recognise an exceptional opera artist whose artistry, individuality and professional potential stand out. The Prize celebrates more than vocal excellence. It honours the combination of voice, musicianship, interpretation, stage presence and artistic identity that distinguishes an artist with the potential to make a lasting contribution to opera. Each year, the Prize is awarded to one exceptional artist, selected through an international artistic process.

Each laureate receives THE KOVANJI PRIZE. A distinctive trophy created specifically for the Prize, together with the official title of Kovanji Prize Laureate.
